The vast majority live in Tortola. Unspoiled beaches and tropical climate make the country a popular tourist destination. The islands Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Tortola are the main islands in this group with a total population of about 28,000. They help to make up an archipelago along with the Spanish Virgin Islands and the US Virgin Islands. The British Virgin Islands are found a bit east of Puerto Rico in the Caribbean.
